Our Sunday morning meeting starts at 10.30am. After an initial song,
the service leader welcomes us all and then we have a time of worship
which usually lasts about 30-45 minutes.
What is the worship like?
Our musical
style varies greatly from classic hymns written hundreds of years
ago to brand new songs and almost everything in between. But it is not
just the
musicians who contribute to our time of worship together. We welcome
offerings
of prayers or passages of scripture from any and every member of the
congregation (preferably not all at once!). If you feel you have a
specific
revelation, picture or word from God which will encourage and build up
the
church, please speak to the service leader who will make an opportunity
for
those to be shared.
During our worship each week we share communion. This is when we
remember the events of the 'Last Supper' when Jesus gave the bread and
wine
to his disciples saying that they represented His body and His blood.
The bread and wine are on a table at the front; the congregation go up
in family or friendship groups to share it. During this time the band
play more meditative worship songs and there is an opportunity to
receive prayer for any needs you may have.
Notices and FrogSquad
After the worship we have our notices and the children go out to FrogSquad and Creche.
The children can stay in the service but we find they have more fun and
learn more in their own groups.
Talk
After the children have left for their groups we have our teaching
which is based on a passage of scripture from the Bible. The talk
usually lasts about 30 minutes. For more details about the kind
of subjects we learn about, go to services.
Coffee and Tea
After the talk we may have a further song and then everyone is invited
to stay for coffee, tea and biscuits. This gives us all a chance to
chat and catch up with friends.
